Launceston wins community action gong

Launceston took the top award for Community Action and Partnerships at the Sustainable Cities Awards 2013. The city was also highly commended for energy innovation at a ceremony in Cockburn, Western Australia. Judges noted Launceston’s strong volunteer base, high level of community partnership and commitment to events, including the Harvest Farmers’ Market, Symphony Under the Stars and Junction Arts Festival.
