Showcasing Tassie lamb

Our premium lamb is being showcased to the world through a new branding program by Tasmanian Quality Meats [TQM]. After starting the Three Rivers brand about two years ago, TQM domestic sales manager, Matt Lang, told Tasmanian Country the time is right to launch an official Tasmanian-branded program: “There’s demand for Tasmanian product, and demand for premium lamb all over Australia, and all over the world … We think there’s room in the market for a really high-end premium lamb. We want to go straight to the direct users rather than through wholesalers and traders.” Initially TQM will sell about 1000 lambs through the branded program, but Lang said this would grow significantly over time. Meantime, a major expansion at TQM’s Cressy plant has started, which will see an additional 400,000 stock processed each year, and the creation of 100 new jobs.
